European leaders are welcoming a move by U.S. President Donald Trump to pause sweeping tariffs for 90 days.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the pause an "important step" toward stabilizing the global economy.

European markets surge after Trump U-turn on tariffs

European stock markets have surged on opening on Thursday, following President Trump's 90-day pause on the reciprocal tariffs.

Just after opening, the bourses in France, Germany, Italy and Spain were all up more than 6 per cent.

Ukraine says over 150 Chinese nationals fighting with Russia

Ukraine's President claims that more than 150 Chinese nationals are
fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.

This announcement comes after Kyiv announced earlier this week that
two Chinese citizens had been captured.

Trump pauses tariffs, increases China tariffs

US President Donald Trump has reversed course and paused global
tariffs on countries around the world for 90-days.

A 10% baseline duty will stay in place against all countries while the
US tries to do deals with individual countries.

However, tariffs against China have increased to 125%.

Death toll rises following Dominican Republic roof collapse

Rescue personnel continue to look for survivors following the deadly collapse of a nightclub roof in the Dominican Republic.


The death toll has now risen to at least 124 people, with more than 150 injured.

US CLAIMS CHINESE INTELLIGENCE IS USING DECEPTIVE METHODS TO RECRUIT GOVERNMENT WORKERS

The U.S. government is warning current and former employees that China is using 'deceptive methods' to recruit them.

Markets fall as China and EU announce retaliatory tariffs on US

Markets are falling again today as China and the European Union announced retaliatory taxes on U.S. goods as US President Donald Trump's latest wave of tariffs has come into force.

French politician suggests sending people up for deportation to tiny Atlantic outpost

Indian pharma sector braces for impact from potential US tariffs

UN Secretary General calls on Israel to allow aid into Gaza

The United Nations Secretary General has appealed to Israel to rescind
its decision to block aid into Gaza.
Israel stopped aid convoys from entering the strip last month -
accusing Hamas of diverting aid.
