Asia-Pacific markets fall as Trump’s country-specific tariffs set to come into effect

NTRO: Hong Kong and other stock markets in Asia traded lower on Wednesday after staging a rebound a day earlier, as US President Donald Trump's hefty tariffs on China were set to take effect later in the day. It is a move that risks further escalating an already volatile trade war.

The Hang Seng Index slumped 3.1 per cent when the market opened, the lowest level since mid-January, while markets in Japan, South Korea and Australia also slid. Laura Westbrook has more from Hong Kong.
