Harris and Trump make final pitches to voters

Final US election polls show Trump and Harris neck and neck

US Vice-President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump remain locked in a dead heat, as the American election campaign enters the home stretch. 


A final poll by the New York Times shows the nominees tied nationally, painting a picture of an immovably divided country.

Trump and Harris head to Texas

Both presidential candidates will visit Texas today (Friday).  Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Houston stumping with Colin Allred - who is in a tight race to unseat Republican Senator Ted Cruz. UN Peacekeeping come under attack again in Lebanon

The United Nations Peacekeeping mission in Lebanon has reported three
more incidents of shelling and bombings on its operations in the last
few days.
This is the latest in a string of attacks on UN Peacekeepers in
Southern Lebanon, stationed there as part of a Security Council
resolution.
No peacekeepers were injured and the origins of the attacks are unknown.

Three people in police custody in France amid search for missing baby

Three people were taken into police custody in France on Thursday amid an ongoing search for a missing baby.

A European arrest warrant has already been issued for the parents of baby Santiago, who took him from the hospital where he was receiving care.

The child, who was born two months premature, needs round-the-clock medical support.

Significant gaps remain in China EU trade talks

The European Commission has warned that significant gaps remain in
finding a resolution to an escalating trade dispute between the EU and
China.

This comes as additional tariffs of up to 36 percent on Chinese

1.5 million people evacuated in India as cyclone Dana makes landfall

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says she will not allow her country's migration deal with Albania to be "dismantled" by the courts.

Italy's migrant processing facilities in Albania recently became operational but a judge ordered the first group taken there to be transported back to Italy.

Warning Of Nightclub Extinction In The UK

There's a warning there'll be no nightclubs left in Britain by the end of decade, if closures continue at the current rate.


Ten a month are shutting their doors for good according to The Nighttime Industries Association, who say that since 2020, almost 40 percent of clubs have closed.


A new survey has also found that 70% of current venues say they are losing money or just managing to break even.

Commonwealth Leaders Seek Further Discussions On Slavery Reparations

Commonwealth leaders are preparing to defy the UK and agree plans to discuss reparations for the transatlantic slave trade.


Downing Street has insisted the issue is not on the agenda at this week's summit of 56 Commonwealth nations in Samoa.


But a number of press reports claim that affected countries want the official communique from the meeting to address reparations and start a "meaningful, truthful and respectful conversation" on the issue.


In the 18th century, Britain was the world's biggest slave trading nation, transporting more than 3 million people from Africa to overseas colonies.

Commonwealth Leaders Reportedly set to defy UK Over Slavery Reparations Debate

Leaders of Commonwealth countries are reportedly set to defy the UK over the issue of slavery reparations at the association's meeting. 

The UK has insisted the issue of reparations is not on the agenda of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) taking place in Samoa. 


But reports suggest that some nations officials are looking to begin discussions, in defiance of the UK's stance.
