INTRO:
The M23 rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo have recaptured a town from government forces after fierce clashes. Local officials say the rebels are in control of Kalembe town in North Kivu province after pushing back fighters of a pro-government militia known as Wazalendo. The fighting is in violation of a ceasefire mediated by the Angolan president in August.
