The Supreme Court of the U.S. has ruled that redrawn district election maps in the state of South Carolina are okay to use, even though a lower court had found it had diluted the power of Black voters.
The 6-3 majority opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, said the maps were not done for racial gerrymandering.

Senators in the United States Congress have — for the second time — voted down a bipartisan border bill, which would have made major changes to immigration law.
If passed, it'd provide the federal government with far-reaching powers to restrict unlawful entries and tighten asylum rules.
But it was once again opposed by Republican Party legislators, largely at the behest of former US President and 2024 candidate Donald Trump, who's urged lawmakers to kill the proposal.

Kenya's President has become the first African leader in more than 15 years to make an official state visit to the United States.
On a three-day trip to Washington, William Ruto is holding bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden and Congressional leaders.
It's the sixth state visit hosted by the Biden administration — the first for an African President since 2008.

The UK Prime Minister has admitted that no flights taking asylum seekers to Rwanda will take place before the General Election.
