NGOs warn Biden over Rafah operation

Dozens of NGOs have written a joint letter to US President Joe Biden, warning him of the dire risks of an Israeli incursion into the southern Gazan city of Rafah.

Israel's Prime Minister is vowing to conduct an operation into Rafah saying the remaining Hamas battalions are stationed there, but the US says it's yet to see a clear and credible plan on how Israel intends getting more than one million displaced Palestinians out.

India's main opposition party - the Indian National Congress - has fielded prominent party leader Rahul Gandhi from its stronghold seat of Raebareli in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

India state of Kerala shuts schools as temperatures soar

Many parts of India are grappling with scorching heat, with heatwave warnings in the southern state of Kerala forcing authorities to close schools.

Body recovered from Baltimore bridge crash site

A body has been recovered from underneath a collapsed bridge in the United States, more than a month after the man and five others were killed when the major crossing in Baltimore dramatically caved in -- with them on it. 

In March, a large container ship lost power and collided into the Francis Scott Key Bridge, bringing down the structure, and plunging several construction workers into the waters below. 

US President Joe Biden has vowed to rebuild the bridge, once the wreckage and the vessel itself are cleared.

Strasbourg court rules Italy has the right to seize ancient statue from U.S. museum

OECD Forecasts UK To Be Worst Performing G7 Economy Next Year
