India's main opposition party - the Indian National Congress - has fielded prominent party leader Rahul Gandhi from its stronghold seat of Raebareli in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Congress says the move will boost the morale of party members in India's most populous and electorally significant state from which it has almost been wiped out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party.
