Truckers in India who were on a nationwide transport strike, in protest against a new law that would enforce stringent punishment for hit-and-run cases, are back at work.
After talks with members of the All India Motor Transport Congress, the government of India assured the committee that the new law has not been implemented yet and will only be implemented after consultation with all stakeholders.

The Tanzanian government has cleared an American couple over the killing of a giant crocodile. Tanzania's Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) released a statement saying the couple's actions were in line with local and international laws governing trophy hunting.

An official investigation is underway into how a Japan Airlines passenger plane collided with a coast guard aircraft while landing at Tokyo’s Haneda airport on Tuesday.
All 379 passengers and crew managed to evacuate the commercial plane before it was engulfed in planes.
Five of the six crew on the coast guard plane died.
