Major Money Laundering Case Tops Parliamentary Agenda in Singapore


A billion-dollar money laundering case that's rocked Singapore's reputation for clean governance tops the city state's parliamentary agenda during its latest sitting.

More than 20 MPs have filed questions related to the case, which saw ten foreigners - all originally from China - arrested in August.

California governor appoints Feinstein replacement senator

California governor Gavin Newsom, has chosen Laphonza Butler, a

Spain's King Felipe is expected to invite acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to try to form a government.

US Congress survives shutdown showdown only to face another

The United States Congress is lurching from one crisis to another — having narrowly averted a government shutdown, some lawmakers are now engaging in the most serious attempt in a century to topple the Speaker of the House of Representatives.


Kevin McCarthy helped approve a short-term funding deal late on Saturday, defying the hardline conservative wing of his Republican Party who are again calling for his removal. 


But Mr McCarthy insists he'll "survive."
