The United States Congress is lurching from one crisis to another — having narrowly averted a government shutdown, some lawmakers are now engaging in the most serious attempt in a century to topple the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Kevin McCarthy helped approve a short-term funding deal late on Saturday, defying the hardline conservative wing of his Republican Party who are again calling for his removal.
But Mr McCarthy insists he'll "survive."
