Taiwan scrambles navy and airforce to track Chinese warplanes and naval ships

CUE: Taiwan says two Chinese military aircraft entered its self-declared air defence identification zone early on Thursday morning.

Taiwan’s defence forces scrambled planes, sent ships, and used missile systems to track a total of fourteen Chinese warplanes and four naval vessels spotted in international waters to the southwest of the island.

'HUMAN REMAINS' TO BE EXAMINED FROM TITAN DEBRIS

Presumed human remains have been found in the wreckage of the Titan submersible, according to US officials.

Debris from the sub which imploded in the Atlantic has been recovered from the bottom of the ocean.

Five people died on their way to visit the Titanic shipwreck.

China may co-operate on fentanyl chemicals: Antony Blinken

CUE: The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, is hopeful that Beijing will give “practical cooperation” over the export of legal Chinese ingredients to make the addictive painkiller, fentanyl,  because criminals are looking for fresh markets for the drug beyond the United States. 

Mr Blinken went to Beijing last week to meet Chinese leaders – a trip that had been postponed from February because of diplomatic rows over Chinese spy balloon flying across America

More than 20 people have been arrested in France after overnight riots in towns across the Paris capital region, sparked by the killing of a teenager by police on Tuesday.
