HEATHROW WORKERS ON STRIKE OVER EASTER

Hundreds of security workers are going on strike at London's Heathrow airport in a row over pay.

Last-minute talks over the dispute broke down without resolution.

More than 1400 security workers will walk out for ten days at Terminal 5 - including over the busy Easter period.

Japan scraps covid curbs on travelers from China

Japan is planning to scrap Covid-19 restrictions on incoming travelers from China. 

In January, Tokyo began mandatory testing on visitors from China due to high case numbers on the mainland, but is now phasing out the curbs.

Donald Trump calls indictment 'political persecution'

Donald Trump has called his indictment 'political persecution' in a statement published on Thursday.


Earlier, a Manhattan jury voted to indict the former US president, but the exact charges are not yet publicly known.


The indictment relates to alleged hush-money payments made to adult movie star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election, and how these were recorded.


Daniels claims to have had an affair with Trump - which he denies.

AUSTRIA'S RAIFFEISEN BANK SET TO LEAVE RUSSIA

After much criticism from shareholders, Austria's Raiffeisen Bank is now considering how it can leave Russia.

It would need to sell its banking arm in Moscow, which provided the parent company with profits of 2.2 billion US dollars in 2022. That's 60% of the earnings of the entire Raiffesen group according to the Financial Times.

Uganda Deploys a Thousand Soldiers to DR Congo Under EA Regional Force
