The US is dismissing China’s threats of retaliation over a likely meeting between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen. The two are expected to meet in Los Angeles next week, at the end of President Tsai’s diplomatic tour of Central America.
