Abuja-Kaduna Train Records Low Passenger Turnout


INTRO


Operations of the Abuja- Kaduna trains resumed on Monday but with low turn out of passengers.


Train rides were suspended by the Nigerian Railway Corporation since March after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a moving passenger train along the route.

India says it will continue to buy Russian oil

As the west implements a price cap to squeeze Moscow's earnings from oil exports, India has said it will not stop buying Russian oil.

Previously, New Delhi has said that there is no 'moral conflict' in buying Russian oil because it needs to prioritise the needs of its 1.3 million citizens.

India's oil imports from Russia have hit record highs this year with Moscow becoming one of the country's top supplier.

Japan’s households spend more despite falling real wages

Eurozone economy contracts for fifth consecutive month: survey

Business activity in the 19 countries which use the euro currency contracted for a fifth consecutive month in November, according to a survey released on Monday. 


S&P Global's composite purchasing managers' index also showed European business confidence levels improved slightly after a 28-month low in September.

Polls suggest Democrats have narrow lead in Georgia run-off

Nigeria Police Deploys Personnel, As Abuja-Kaduna Train Services Resumes

Nigeria's Inspector-General of Police has ordered the deployment of armed personnel along Abuja-Kaduna route, as train services on that route resumes.


Train operations have been suspended in the last eight months by the Nigeria Railway Corporation, following a Boko haram attack on a Kaduna-bound train in March, that left at least eight people dead and dozens kidnapped.


According to the NRC, services will begin with two train rides from Abuja to Kaduna and vice versa.

Landmark trial over 2016 bombings begins in Brussels
