European Union leaders are gathering in Brussels for talks on how to tame runaway energy prices.


With energy markets tight globally and the fallout of Russia's war in Ukraine increasingly felt in Europe, EU governments are scrambling to help struggling citizens and businesses as winter approaches.

Eurozone inflation narrowly escapes double digits after data revision

Annual inflation in the 19 countries which use the Euro currency stood at 9.9% in September, according to new data from the European Union's statistics agency.


That's marginally lower than flash estimates released last month, but still the highest level in the history of the single currency.

80 People Die of Cholera in Nigeria
