Hong Kong rescue teams search for more survivors of ship wreck

Hong Kong rescue teams say the chances are slim of finding any of the sailors missing from a ship that snapped in half as a typhoon hit the territory at the weekend. Four crew members were pulled to safety on Saturday, but 26 are still missing.

Suspect in Texas migrant deaths reportedly high on meth

The suspected driver in Texas' migrant deaths tragedy was reportedly high on meth at the time of his arrest.

Fifty-three migrants died inside the abandoned tractor-trailer on a sweltering day near San Antonio, in what officials say is the worst case of human smuggling in U.S. history.

Julian Assange submits request to appeal extradition to US

Chinese president Xi Jinping defends Hong Kong's "one country, two systems" policy

China's President Xi Jinping has defended his policy of ruling Hong Kong since the city's handover from Britain 25 years ago.


He says the "one country, two systems" policy works and gives Hong Kong a high degree of autonomy.

Nigeria Military on Rescue Mission in Niger state

Nigeria has deployed troops of its armed forces to Shiroro local government area of Niger state in the country's north central region to dislodge  terrorists who have been wrecking havoc there.
