Japan to fight surging prices with stimulus package

Japan is planning to craft a new stimulus package as rising import costs weigh on its economy. The government has already enacted the largest ever budget for fiscal 2022 as the country emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hong Kong government urged to relax COVID-19 rules as cases drop

Actor Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock for slapping the comedian at Sunday night's Oscars ceremony following Rock's joke about Smith's wife's shaved head, the result of a medical condition.

Biden denies he's seeking "regime change" in Moscow, has no regrets over Saturday comment despite White House walkback

President Biden has insisted that he was not calling for "regime change" in Moscow when he said on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin could not remain in power.


Mr. Biden told reporters he was simply expressing his personal moral outrage over the Russian leader's prosecution of the war in Ukraine.


The President said questions about his ad libbed comments at the end of his Warsaw speech were "ridiculous", and insisted he had done no damage to transatlantic relations with America's allies nor complicated the crisis.

Federal judge: Trump "more than likely" committed crime trying to overturn election

Abramovich, Ukrainian negotiators "poisoned" during March talks in Kyiv

A spokesman for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has confirmed reports that he suffered from an unexplained illness earlier this month after participating in early-stage talks in Kyiv about negotiations with the Russians.


The Wall Street Journal newspaper reports that Mr. Abramovich along with two Ukrainian negotiators suffered from eyesight and skin issues after the meeting.


Mr. Abramovich received medical attention in Turkey after temporarily losing his sight.


The Ukrainian negotiators claim the men were poisoned by hardliners in Russia seeking to torpedo the talks.

Russia to restrict visas for foreigners from "unfriendly states" including the US

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to sign a presidential decree, restricting visas for foreigners from a raft of “unfriendly states”.
