Zelensky dismisses Russian demands as an "ultimatum"

The Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba are to meet face-to-face on Thursday in the southern Turkish city of Antalya.


The Kremlin insisted today there can only be a cessation of hostilities if Ukraine recognizes Russian sovereignty over Crimea and Eastern Ukraine….agrees never to join NATO or the European Union….and agrees to full demilitarization.


Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking through an interpreter, gave his reaction to those demands to America's ABC News.  [MANDATORY CREDIT]

Fresh effort to implement Ukraine ceasefire ignored again by Russia

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Moscow's insistence that Ukrainians fleeing the fighting must seek safety in Russia and Belarus.


The French President Emmanuel Macron also today poured scorn on the idea.


Intense Russian bombardment of the cities of Mariupol and Kharkiv is continuing, and there's been more shelling of Irpen just 25 kilometers from Kyiv.

Another round of talks are underway between Russian and Ukrainian officials, after it was announced today the the countries foreign ministers will meet southern Turkey on Thursday.


The latest dialogue is taking place on the Polish border.

More than 200 thousand Ukrainians have now fled to Lviv in the country's west.


200 thousand more have entered Moldova where the country's President says his tiny nation won't be able to accommodate many more.

NYC lifts vaccine requirements for indoor settings

UN top court hears Ukraine's arguments against Russia in genocide case

Hearings in the International Court of Justice in The Hague open on Monday in a case brought by Ukraine against Russia.

Blinken and Biden reaffirm commitment to NATO

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken fears "the suffering" in Ukraine "is likely to get worse before it gets better."


At a meeting with NATO Foreign Minister counterparts, Mr Blinken warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin risks "opening a Pandora's box of trouble for the entire world."

Crypto exchanges resist calls to shut down Russian accounts

Cryptocurrency exchanges are resisting calls to shut down services in Russia adding to fears that crypto could blunt the impact of international sanctions.

Supreme Court Reinstates Death Sentence for Boston Marathon Bomber

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne Dies aged 52

Shane Warne, one of the world's best ever cricketers, has died of a suspected heart attack aged 52.


His management team confirmed that he was found unresponsive in his villa in Thailand on Friday, March 4th.


The Australian is widely recognised as one of the best spin bowlers of all time and his death has been met with countless tributes from sportspeople around the world.
