Fresh effort to implement Ukraine ceasefire ignored again by Russia

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Moscow's insistence that Ukrainians fleeing the fighting must seek safety in Russia and Belarus.


The French President Emmanuel Macron also today poured scorn on the idea.


Intense Russian bombardment of the cities of Mariupol and Kharkiv is continuing, and there's been more shelling of Irpen just 25 kilometers from Kyiv.

Another round of talks are underway between Russian and Ukrainian officials, after it was announced today the the countries foreign ministers will meet southern Turkey on Thursday.


The latest dialogue is taking place on the Polish border.

More than 200 thousand Ukrainians have now fled to Lviv in the country's west.


200 thousand more have entered Moldova where the country's President says his tiny nation won't be able to accommodate many more.


Secretary of State Antony Blinken visiting Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia and again expressed a determination for the US and NATO not to be dragged into war with Russia.
