Next Shipments of Vaccines to Uganda to be Delayed.

The World Health Organization says there will be a slight delay in the next shipment of vaccines to Uganda which could affect the scheduled time for people to take their second jab.

Uganda received its first batch of the Astrazeneca vaccines from the COVAX facility in March and a second shipment was due to arrive by the end of May.

Nigeria prison break: 48 fleeing inmates recaptured


Nigerian authorities say 48 inmates who escaped from a correctional facility in Imo state southeast Nigeria on Monday have been recaptured.

Efforts are still ongoing to recapture nealy 1,800 inmates at large.

Ukrainian President visits Donbas amid Russian military build-up

UK: VACCINE ROLLOUT WILL STILL HIT TARGETS

The UK says its vaccine rollout remains on course despite a change in guidance for young people about the AstraZeneca covid-19 jab.

Regulators say people aged under 30 will be offered an alternative vaccine if one is available.

It's due to evidence linking rare clots to the AstraZeneca jab.

Ministers say the UK has enough supplies of Pfizer and Moderna to make sure all adults are offered a vaccine dose by the end of July.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says the rollout will continue at pace.

Some Indian states complain of vaccine shortages

As India works to expand its vaccination drive, several states have alleged they're running out of shots.

India recorded more than 126,000 new COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours- a new one-day record.

Hong Kong democracy activists applaud UK immigration support

Democracy activists in Hong Kong are applauding a 60 million dollar support package being offered in the UK, for Hong Kongers seeking to emigrate there. But the measure is being dismissed by pro-Beijing campaigners as a sign that fewer Hong Kongers than expected are interested in leaving.

Biden set to unveil long-awaited action on gun control

US President Joe Biden is set to unveil his long-awaited executive actions to curb gun violence.

Australia - Bone tools more than 35,000 years old

Excavated from the Riwi cave in Western Australia's southern Kimberley region in the early 90's, advanced dating techniques put the eight bone tools as between 35,000 and 45,000 years old.


This would make them some of the oldest artefacts to have been discovered in Australia.

EU health ministers fail to agree common approach to AZ vaccine

EU health ministers have failed to agree a common approach to the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.

After the European Medicines Agency said there IS a causal link between receiving the vaccine and a very rare form of blood clotting, it was up to member states to decide what to do.

But on Wednesday no decision was taken.

MYANMAR EMBASSY IN LONDON 'STORMED'

Myanmar's ambassador to London says the country's embassy in the British capital has been 'stormed' by figures loyal to the military.

Vaccine spending fastest way to normalise global debt - IMF

Europe's health regulator has concluded there is a "possible link" between the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and very rare cases of blood clots.
