The US Food and Drug Administration is meeting to decide whether to
recommend Johnson & Johnson's Covid-19 vaccine for use in America.

The advisory committee's decision could pave the way for approval as
early as this weekend.

Former Scottish First Minister claims the government was involved in a 'malicious' conspiracy against him as inquiry begins

'Scotland's leadership has failed' according to a former First Minister giving evidence to an inquiry that could have implications for the prospects of independence from the UK


Alex Salmond, who formerly led the Scottish National Party (SNP), was originally charged with 13 counts of sexual assault in 2017 but was acquitted of all charges in March 2020.


He says that the Scottish government was involved in a 'malicious' attempt to remove him from public life during his trial.

Indian government opposes petitions for same sex marriage

The Indian government has opposed petitions to change existing laws on marriage, allowing same sex marriage to take place in the country.

U.S. President Biden and first lady visit disaster-hit Texas

U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are visiting Texas [Friday] to assess the aftermath of last week’s unprecedented winter storm which left millions without power, heat and water- and 40 people dead.

Update: Police confirm 317 girls kidnapped school in Northwest Nigeria


The Nigerian police has confirmed that the number of kidnapped students from Friday's attack in Zamfara state, northwest Nigeria is 317. 

Security operatives are combing the area to find and rescue the students.

Islamic State bride should not be allowed to return to the UK, says Supreme Court

Shamima Begum, the Islamic State bride who travelled to Syria from the UK aged 15, should not be allowed back into Britain.
