'Scotland's leadership has failed' according to a former First Minister giving evidence to an inquiry that could have implications for the prospects of independence from the UK
Alex Salmond, who formerly led the Scottish National Party (SNP), was originally charged with 13 counts of sexual assault in 2017 but was acquitted of all charges in March 2020.
He says that the Scottish government was involved in a 'malicious' attempt to remove him from public life during his trial.
