EU's top envoy faces calls to resign after Moscow 'humiliation'

Germany, Poland and Sweden have each announced the expulsion of one Russian diplomat.

The move is in retaliation to Moscow's expulsion of European diplomats last week for their alleged participation in protests in support of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. 

The EU's chief diplomat is facing calls to resign after a three-day visit to Moscow last week.

DRC EBOLA RESURGENCE

The World Health Organisation has warned of a resurgence of the Ebola disease in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo after a woman died there last week.

COVID-19 Cases Drop in Rwanda After Three Weeks Lockdown

Nigerian military kill 52 armed gunmen in Zamfara state


The Nigerian military has reportedly killed more than 50 armed gunmen suspected of terrorising Zamfara state and other parts of the northwest. 

It's part of efforts by the government to put an end to theft, killings and kidnappings by criminals in the country.

UK TO BOOST TESTING FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS

The UK is bringing in a requirement for further testing of all international arrivals while in quarantine.

All travellers to the UK are likely to be required to be tested on the second and eighth of ten days of isolation.

This is in addition to hotel quarantine, which is being imposed for UK residents who arrive from designated Covid-19 hotspots from Monday.

It's part of plans to try and avoid new variants spreading in Britain, but opposition politicians say it's come too late, and doesn't go far enough.

Cabinet minister George Eustice admits contracts haven't yet been signed with hotels which will be used for mandatory quarantine from next week.

Rescue operations continue following Uttarakhand glacier disaster

Rescue operations are continuing at a tunnel in north India where more than 30 people are believed to be trapped, after a Himalayan glacier collapse triggered floods and burst open a dam.

Four Ugandan Soldiers Injured in Helicopter Crash in Somalia

Hong Kong denies lowering its standards for Sinovac approval

The Hong Kong government is dismissing accusations of lowering its standards in order to approve China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine.
