US CDC: Covid-19 strain spreading "rapidly"

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a variant of
Covid-19, first seen in the UK, is spreading "rapidly" through
America.

New daily infection numbers in the US have been falling for the last
few weeks, but the daily death toll remains around 3,000.
