US Federal Prisoner Executed After Supreme Court Rejects Plea

A federal prisoner has been executed in the US state of Indiana after the Supreme Court rejected a plea for clemency, the ninth execution under US President Trump in the past two years.

Four U.S. battleground states reject Texas lawsuit

Four battleground states have rebuked a lawsuit seeking to overturn
the outcome of the U.S. presidential election.

This after 17 states, the president, and more than 100 Republican
lawmakers backed a legal effort in Texas to throw out voting results
in Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

US Covid-19 vaccines could start Monday

The US health secretary says Covid-19 vaccinations could start as
early as Monday, after the Food and Drug Administration signalled it
would approve the Pfizer vaccine.

But it comes amid predictions around 3,000 people will every day for
the next two months.

Hong Kong activist Jimmy Lai charged under national security law

One of Hong Kong's most prominent democracy activists is facing charges under the city's national security law that could result in life imprisonment.

UK VACCINE MANUFACTURER TO TRIAL COMBINATION WITH RUSSIA VACCINE

UK pharmaceutical manufacturer AstraZeneca has agreed a partnership with Russia's Gamelaya institute to work on a combined Covid-19 vaccine.

Both have produced their own vaccines, with Gamelaya reporting efficacy of more than 90%, and AstraZeneca reporting around 70%.

Now AstraZeneca will conduct a clinical trial to test a combination of both vaccines.

EU Council summit concludes with breakthrough on recovery fund and climate change

The EU Council summit has concluded after an overnight marathon, with a deal on the bloc's landmark €1.8trillion long-term budget and recovery fund.

US Federal Advisors Endorse Pfizer Vaccine
