Hong Kong police arrest student activists

Pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong are denouncing the arrests of four student members of a recently disbanded pro-independence group. 

The arrests mark the first police action taken against anti-government activists, outside of a street protest.

Egypt says military action against Ethiopia not an option

Coronavirus deaths in the US pass 150,000, the worst in the world

The coronavirus death toll in the United States has topped 150,000 with the country leading the globe in the number of cases and fatalities.

The milestone comes on the heels of the US hitting four-million confirmed infections, doubling its total case count in six weeks.

US stocks climb on fed decision, tech gains

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 160 points Wednesday, as the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. 


Continued appetite for technology stocks also helped boost investor interest, as Nasdaq led gains for the day.

Federal Reserve keeps interest rates steady


The Federal Reserve says economic activity in the U.S. is still "well below" pre-coronavirus pandemic levels.

Federal Agents to Being Phased Withdrawal from Portland

Federal agents who have clashed with protesters in Portland, Oregon, will begin a "phased withdrawal" from the city.

The Governor of Oregon and the Acting Homeland Security Secretary say they've  negotiated a deal…but there's no clarity on exactly when the troops will begin to leave. 

Just hours before the announcement of the agreement for troops to leave Portland, President Trump doubled down on the need for increased federal presence there.

DRC Soldiers Killed

57% of Mumbai's slum residents may have been exposed to COVID19

A serological survey conducted in Mumbai has found that one in four people in the city could have been exposed to the coronavirus.

The survey found that COVID19 is far more widespread in slums where social distancing is tough- with 57% of slum residents showing antibodies for COVID19.

Korea auto import group suspends chairman as anger grows over sex abuse claims

South Korea's largest imported auto association has suspended its chairman over allegations of sexual abuse. The Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association said pending an investigation, it may take further action against Pablo Rosso, who is the head of the Korea division of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

China Reports 101 New Coronavirus Cases


Newly reported cases of coronavirus infections in China have topped 100 for the first time in over three and a half months.
