Philippine military back Duterte's decision to scrap US security pact

UK suspends funding to Commonwealth Secretariat

The British government has suspended its funding of the Commonwealth Secretariat, the body that runs the international organisation from London. 

UK diplomats have told the secretary-general of the Commonwealth that Britain's annual contribution will be withheld until her secretariat improves its financial procedures.

Uganda Quarantines Another 120 Travelers from China

UK REGULATOR GIVEN EXTRA POWERS OVER HARMFUL ONLINE CONTENT

The UK's broadcasting watchdog is being given extra powers to tackle harmful content online.

Under new government plans, regulator OFCOM will be able to make tech firms themselves responsible for protecting users from content including violence, terrorism, and abuse.

Social media firms such as Twitter and Facebook have been repeatedly urged to do more to remove dangerous content.

Bernie Sanders wins New Hampshire Primary

Senator Bernie Sanders, the socialist warhorse from Vermont, is celebrating victory in the New Hampshire primary….the second key state to vote in the race for the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination.

He forced Pete Buttigieg, the former Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, into second place, with Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota coming third.

The result is a disaster for former Vice President Joe Biden, and raises questions about the future viability of his campaign.

Senator Sanders told throngs of supporters in New Hampshire that his win sets the stage for further success ahead.
