Philippine military back Duterte's decision to scrap US security pact

The Philippine military is standing by President Duterte's decision to scrap a security pact with the United States.

It says that ending the Visiting Forces Agreement would allow the country to develop its own defense capabilities and alliances.

The US has said it's a move in the wrong direction.
