German football associations have warned regional players in the league against imitating the military salutes by the Turkish national team. The association says players will be hit with heavy penalties if they do so after scoring a goal.

Thousands of people protested in the Catalonia region of Spain for a second straight day following the sentencing of nine leaders of the local separatist movement.
The charges stem from the independence referendum in 2017 and local leaders are continuing to push for their own state.
