NOBEL PRIZE GOES TO ETHIOPIA'S PM

The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The leader who assumed power in 2018 is on a transitional period until 2020 when National elections will give him his own mandate.

Tanzania’s President warns Burundian Refugees against crime.

Tanzania's president Dr. John Pombe Magufuli has warned Burundian refugees living in Tanzania to stop criminal acts against local residents who live near refugee camps.


President Magufuli issued the warning on various stops in his current tour of Tanzania's western region of Katavi.

Jewish leaders in Germany call for more protection after failed synagogue attack


Jewish leaders in Germany are calling for the authorities to do more to protect their community after a failed attack on a synagogue this week.

On Wednesday, a gunman killed two people after trying to force his way into a synagogue in the eastern city of Halle.

Nigeria to regulate online media platforms

Nobel Prize Decision Sparks Anger

The Swedish Academy's decision to award Austrian author Peter Handke [HAHND KUH]  the Nobel Prize for literature has come under criticism because of Handke's support for Serbia during the Yugoslav civil war in the nineteen nineties.


Handke was a personal friend of the late Serbian president and war criminal Slobodan Milosevic.

Russia continues to release whales from 'jail' in Far East region

Russia is continuing with a plan to release whales that have been held captive in the country's Far East region.

Another group of beluga whales will be freed next week, after 14 others were released at the start of the month.

More than 100 whales had been caught to be sold to China but an international outcry forced the authorities to release the animals.

Brexit talks resume amid fresh optimism of a deal

Russia offers to mediate between Turkey and Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Moscow is willing to play the role of an intermediary to resolve the latest tensions in the Middle East following Turkey's incursion into Kurdish-held areas of Northern Syria.

Experts add that Russia stands to gain from America's withdrawal from Syria- its long stated position has been that the American troops are in the region illegally.

Turkey offensive: UN warns of ISIS "resurgence"

The European countries on the United Nations Security Council have
called on Turkey to cease its military offensive in Syria, warning it
could lead to a "resurgence" of ISIS.

Trump lawyer associates arrested for campaign finance violations
