Trump claims whistleblower's sources are "close to a spy", calls for halting of impeachment inquiry

President Trump says the officials within his White House who provided information to a whistleblower are close to being "spies" and he's demanding that they be unmasked.


The President also says he ought out to have the power to halt the impeachment probe now underway on Capitol Hill.

Bangladesh gets inspired with Delhi's new curriculum for students

Bangladesh's Primary Education Minister, Zakir Hussain met Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday.

They visited a public school in New Delhi to observe the Happiness Curriculum in action.

The Delhi government introduced this course in public schools in 2018, and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.

In this class, students learn about values, mindfulness and sensibility.

DR Congo Measles Vaccination

The Congolese government and international aid agencies have launched a huge measles vaccination campaign in six of the DRC's provinces.


The aim is to stem the world's largest measles outbreak. Health officials have recorded close to 200,000 cases and 3,667 deaths since the beginning of the year. Chris Ocamringa has that story from Kinshasa.

UK PARLIAMENT WILL NOT BE SUSPENDED FOR CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONFERENCE

British lawmakers have voted against a three-day suspension of parliament, which would allow the Conservative party to hold its annual conference in Manchester.

It comes after the government attempted to suspend Parliament for five weeks, through a process called prorogation, but were found to have acted unlawfully.

Whistleblower alleges White House cover-up of Trump's conversations with Zelensky


The whistleblower alleging serious misconduct by President Trump is claiming the White House operates a secret electronic storage system where records of his conversation with the Ukrainian President were hidden.


The complaint alleges that multiple White House officials were so worried by the President's discussions with the Ukrainian leader that they locked records of the conversations away.

Tanzania hunter-gatherers win UN environment prize

A carbon offset project run by Hadza tribe who are  hunter-gatherers in Tanzania has been awarded the UN's Equator Prize for conservation and sustainability in New York, along with 21 other indigenous groups that are using natural solutions to combat climate change.

Russian military experts land in Venezuela as Maduro meets Putin

A group of Russian military experts has arrived in Venezuela as talks were in Moscow between President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela and the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The atmosphere between the two leaders was more than friendly as Mr Maduro presented Mr Putin with a sword as a gift.
