ROW OVER INFLAMMATORY LANGUAGE IN BREXIT DEBATE

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing a growing backlash over language being used in the Brexit debate.

He's being criticised for using words including 'surrender' and 'betray' in the House of Commons.

And for appearing to dismiss comments from an opposition MP who raised the murder of lawmaker Jo Cox by an extremist in 2016.

The government insists all sides have been using inflammatory language and says delivering Brexit is the best way to calm tensions.

Conservative Party Chairman James Cleverly says Parliamentarians frustrating Brexit is contributing to the atmosphere.
