BORIS JOHNSON CONTINUES TO URGE SNAP ELECTION

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is still calling for a snap election despite MPs rejecting it on Wednesday.

He'll make an address later (approx 15G) in which he'll insist an election is the only way out of the Brexit crisis.

The opposition Labour Party says it won't back an election until that bill has passed the House of Lords - which could happen by Friday.

Political reporter Theo Usherwood says the Prime Minister's speech later will urge an election as a direct result of the anti-no-deal legislation.
