UK MPs REJECT EARLY ELECTION

UK lawmakers have voted against Prime Minister Boris Johnson's plan for a snap election on 15th October.

Mr Johnson says an election is necessary after MPs passed legislation to try and avoid a 'no deal' Brexit.

He needed the votes of two thirds of the House of Commons for his election plan to move forward.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says he didn't make it.
