PLANNED EVACUATION OF VILLAGE NEAR MISSILE TEST SITE CANCELLED

Residents in Russia who were advised to evacuate from a village near a military range where a deadly blast occurred have now been told then can stay at home.

At least five nuclear engineers were killed in the rocket explosion last week.

Former British Chancellor Philip Hammond says Prime Minister Boris Johnson is wrecking the chance of a Brexit deal with the EU by making demands it can't accept.

The Conservative MP says Parliament will 'make its voice heard' in trying to avert a 'no deal' Brexit.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Commons John Bercow says he will 'fight with every breath in my body' to block the Prime Minister if Boris Johnson tries to suspend Parliament to force through a 'no deal' Brexit.

10 days on, Kashmir remains cut-off

Prime Minister Modi's government has defended its move to keep restrictions in place in Indian administered Kashmir for more than ten days now. It says that the situation is a trade-off between restrictions and loss of life.

India has revoked a special status for Kashmir giving New Delhi more control over the region- a move that has been criticised by Islamabad. 

Both India and Pakistan govern Kashmir in parts but claim the disputed region in full.

PROTESTERS LOSE PUBLIC OPINION FOLLOWING AIRPORT CHAOS

Trump urges calm in Hong Kong

US President Donald Trump says US intelligence believes the Chinese government is moving troops towards the border with Hong Kong, as clashes between police and protesters in the city intensify.

Flight check-in has been suspended in Hong Kong international airport for a second day as protesters occupied the terminal building.

Areas near Notre-Dame to be decontaminates

Areas around the burnt-out Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris are going to be decontaminated of lead. 

High concentrations of the chemical were blown into the sky when the building caught alight in April.

The demonstrations have developed into a broader pro-democracy movement and many protesters are also angry at their treatment by Hong Kong's police.
