U.S. and China set for more talks as trade deal looms
Washington this week.
Both sides say progress was made when the sides met in Beijing last
week but skeptics believe that major issues remain unresolved.
The Trump administration has treated to raise tariffs from 10% to 25%
on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods if a deal isn't reached by
March 1st.

N. Korea believes relations with U.S. poised for breakthrough

The state-run North Korean news website Meari said there's no reason North Korea and the U.S. can't have a major breakthrough.
The website said North Korea hasn't recently built or tested nuclear weapons.
Plus, it reported, the North doesn't plan to use or spread its weapons.
President Trump and leader Kim agreed to rid the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons when they met last summer.
But little progress has been made as they near their second summit scheduled for next week.
North Korea purportedly destroyed weapons testing sites last year, proof, it believes, it's serious about denuclearization.
Meari also said the international community agrees it's time for the U.S. to respond.
It added Washington should consider this a precious opportunity.

Secretary Pompeo said he expects President Trump and leader Kim to discuss denuclearization, security and peace.
In an interview with Fox News, Pompeo was asked about a formal ending to the Korean War.
The secretary, who's visiting Warsaw, said it's something the U.S. has discussed a lot.
North Korea has demanded an end-of-war declaration in return for giving up its nuclear weapons.
In recent weeks, Trump's government has indicated it may be willing to offer some kind of concession even if North Korea doesn't give up all its weapons up front.
Trump and Kim will meet for two days from February 27th in Vietnam.
