U.S. retail sales post biggest decline in nine years

U.S. retail sales fell short of analysts expectations in December
marking the biggest drop seen in nine years.

Despite a healthy jobs market and raising wages, analysts say there
has been a crosswind caused by the government shutdown and stock
market volatility.
