Belgian court to decide whether to send Catalonia's Puigdemont back to Spain

A judge in Belgium is due to decide whether to uphold an extradition request from Spain for former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont.

He and four other Catalan separatist - who declared Catalan independence -  travelled to Brussels into self-imposed exile after Madrid took control of Catalonia.

Witness provides new evidence on Russia's online “troll factories”

A former employee of one of Russia's so-called online "troll factories" provided new evidence on Moscow's subversive activities targeting US social network users ahead of the US 2016 elections. The interview, published by the American NBC News TV channel, seems to prove the US intelligence community claims that a "close ally" of Russia's President Vladimir Putin was behind the misinformation campaign against the West. UK CALLS FOR BREXIT TALKS 'HASTE'

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says Brexit negotiations must speed up and move on to the next phase.

He's in Dublin for talks with his Irish counterpart.

Britain wants to move to discussions about future trading arrangements after December.

Zimbabwe's military says talks are continuing with President Robert Mugabe about his future.

He's understood to be resisting calls to step aside immediately.

The 93 year-old has been under house arrest since a military takeover on Wednesday.

The army says it has been arresting 'criminals' close to President Mugabe but denies it has carried out a coup.

Moody's upgrades India's rating after 14 years

For the first time since 2004, India's sovereign bond rating has been raised from stable to positive by Moody's.

The rupee, bonds and stocks have since rallied. The rating agency has citied Prime Minister Modi's continued reform agenda as the reason for the upgrade.

Fire rips through retirement community

An enormous fire has ripped through a retirement community in the U.S.
state of Pennsylvania.

The blaze spread to several buildings and there is no word as yet on

Japan circulate draft resolution in hope of keeping Syrian chemical weapons panel alive [VOICER + WRAP]

According to diplomats at the United Nations, Japan has circulated a
draft resolution in the hope of renewing Syria's chemical weapons
panel for one month.

This comes after Russia vetoed a resolution in the Security Council

UN urges Saudi Arabia to open humanitarian access into Yemen

US supports efforts to restart talks with North Korea

The Trump administration appears to be supporting efforts to get North Korea talking again.

While visiting the North America Command in Colorado, U.S. Defence Secretary James Mattis said, "So long as they stop testing, stop developing, they don't export their weapons, there would be opportunity for talks."

A U.S. special envoy is in South Korea, while the Chinese are reported to be sending their own to Pyongyang.

Roy Moore refuses to leave Alabama Senate race

Roy Moore is refusing to leave the race to become the next Republican U.S. Senator from Alabama.

A growing number of women have come forward to say publicly, he approached them inappropriately and in a sexual manner when they were in their teens and he was in his 30s.

Roy Moore says its all a conspiracy by the establishment Democrats, Republicans and Washington Post.

UN rights committee calls on Myanmar to end military ops against Rohingyas, paves way for UNGA vote


A United Nations human rights committee has approved a resolution calling on Myanmar's government to stop military operations against Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine State, and allow them return home.

Boko Haram Attacks Maiduguri
