The Trump administration appears to be supporting efforts to get North Korea talking again.
While visiting the North America Command in Colorado, U.S. Defence Secretary James Mattis said, "So long as they stop testing, stop developing, they don't export their weapons, there would be opportunity for talks."
A U.S. special envoy is in South Korea, while the Chinese are reported to be sending their own to Pyongyang.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says President Trump supports the efforts to reach a deal.
