Landslide Claims Lives In Uganda

Intro,

At least 17 people in Uganda are confirmed dead and others are missing after a landslide swept through a village in the South Western part of the Country.

Police and the Uganda Red Cross are carrying out a search and recovery for the missing persons.

'TEACH UK CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS HOW TO FLEE TERROR'

British police say children should be taught in schools how to respond if they're caught up in a terrorist attack.

The Metropolitan Police says advice in schools could potentially save lives.

It comes after a spate of terrorist attacks in 2017 in the UK - including at a pop concert in Manchester attended by many children.

Budget airline Ryanair faces possible legal action after cancelling thousands of flights.

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority says some of the hundreds of thousands of passengers affected have been 'persistently misled' about their rights.

Ryanair has now cancelled flights in two phases - each affecting around 400 000 customers.

It says it 'messed up' holiday schedules for pilots.

US breaks ground on border wall prototypes

The US this week began construction on border wall prototypes in San Diego, as part of President Donald's Trump's campaign promise to tighten border security between the US and Mexico. 


Six contractors are reportedly involved in the project, and the US Customs and Border Protection agency said construction is slated to complete within 30 days.

US Defence chief arrives in Afghanistan

US Defence Secretary James Mattis has pledged his support for the Afghan government on a visit to Kabul.

The US recently announced it would send an extra 3,000 troops to the country to help fight against the Taliban.

UN refugee chief fears no return for Rohingya

The United Nations refugee chief has expressed concerned the 800,000
Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh may not be able to return to Myanmar.

His comments come as Myanmar authorities displayed the bodies of 45
Hindus they say were killed by Rohingya Muslim insurgents.
