RYANAIR FACES LEGAL ACTION

Budget airline Ryanair faces possible legal action after cancelling thousands of flights.

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority says some of the hundreds of thousands of passengers affected have been 'persistently misled' about their rights.

Ryanair has now cancelled flights in two phases - each affecting around 400 000 customers.

It says it 'messed up' holiday schedules for pilots.

Aviation analyst Paul Charles says the issue extends far beyond the flights themselves.
