Australian High Court rules Senator is a dual citizen

The Australian High Court has made it's first ruling on the eligibility of Australian politicians to hold office due to their perceived dual citizenship.
The court says One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts was in fact a dual British and Australian citizen when he nominated as an election candidate.

May expected to urge EU members to seek "smooth" Brexit


British Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to urge  EU members to work towards a smooth Brexit in a major speech in the Italian city of  Florence,  Friday.

The leader is expected to announce the UK will continue paying into the EU budget until 2020. It comes after the European bloc"s chief Brexit negotiator warned the U.K. must settle its accounts and speed up the negotiating process.

May to try to kick-start Brexit negotiations with Florence speech

British Prime Minister Theresa May is due to deliver a key speech on Brexit in the Italian city of Florence today (Friday 22nd) in which she is expected to reassure EU leaders the UK will honour its financial obligations after leaving the block.

Russia criticizes Trump on Iran, North Korea

Russia's Foreign Minister has criticized US President Donald Trump's hardline stance on Iran and North Korea.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Sergei Lavrov said a 2015 deal on Tehran's nuclear program could be derailed by unilateral US sanctions.

And he warned against what he called "military hysteria" surrounding North Korea's recent missile tests.

American President Donald Trump has imposed new US sanctions on North Korea, to make it harder for Pyongyang to do trade with the rest of the world.

He's signed an executive order which means the US Treasury can now target any person or company that trades with North Korea.

The latest measures are in response to North Korea's continued nuclear and missile testing.
