Donald Trump has issued a set of sanctions targeting any entities worldwide involved in trade, services or technology with North Korea.
Banks identified as servicing such accounts risk having access to the US banking system withdrawn.
China has also ordered its banks to begin unwinding relationships with most North Korean businesses.
