US imposes new sanctions on North Korea

American President Donald Trump has imposed new US sanctions on North Korea, to make it harder for Pyongyang to do trade with the rest of the world.

He's signed an executive order which means the US Treasury can now target any person or company that trades with North Korea.

The US President made the announcement ahead of a meeting with the leaders of Japan and South Korea.

The latest measures are in response to North Korea's continued nuclear and missile testing.

President Trump spoke to reporters in New York, where he's been attending meetings on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
