India to link 60 rivers to tackle floods

The Indian government has indicated it will begin the work to inter-link 60 major rivers in the country to help tackle floods. The project is expected to cost $87 billion.

The government says this will help reduce farmers' dependance on the monsoon and help irrigate drought prone areas.

However, environmentalists have sounded an alarm saying that this scheme could cause substantial ecological damage.

Our India correspondent Neha Poonia reports.

Brexit Talks End with No Breakthrough

The third round of Brexit negations have wrapped in Brussels without any major breakthroughs.

The UK and the EU still haven't come to an agreement on three key issues: What do to with the border in Ireland, the rights of UK citizens living in the EU and vice versa, and how many millions the UK owes the EU for programs it already committed to.

The most divisive issue is that so called "Brexit bill."

The EU's chief negotiator Michele Barnier told reporters after negotiations wrapped that the citizens of Europe should not be cheated by the UK.
