UK net migration falls

GUINEA MUDSLIDE

India's top court identifies right to privacy as fundamental right

In a landmark judgment, India's Supreme Court has held that the right to privacy is a fundamental right of all citizens.

This verdict was delivered in connection with a challenge to India's mass biometric scheme known as Aadhar. This involves people getting their irises scanned, their fingerprints registered and also sees their addresses, phone numbers and bank details on record with the government.

Trump Calls for National Unity

Donald Trump has delivered a speech in the city of Reno, Nevada, calling for national unity.

The US President has faced days of mounting criticism, even from members of his own party, about his fitness for office.

Republicans and Democrats are concerned about his seeming sympathy towards some of those involved with an overtly racist armed protest group.

But in a speech before the veterans group the American Legion, he called for national unity.

May: No European court role in the UK after Brexit

The British government is expected to tell EU negotiators next week the European Court of Justice will no "direct jurisdiction" in the UK after Brexit.

A new Downing Street policy paper suggests it's "neither necessary nor appropriate" for the ECJ to continue to have a role.
