Pentagon: no official reports of civilian casualties in Afghanistan roadside bomb incident


The Pentagon says it has received no official reports of any civilian casualties after a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan.

US troops opened fire after their vehicle was hit on Monday in Nangarhar province, with local officials reporting at least three civilian casualties.

Maryland, DC sue Pres. Trump over constitional violations

UK to delay State Opening of Parliament

The UK's State opening of Parliament, otherwise known as the Queen's speech is likely to be delayed, after the country's Conservative party government failed to reach a majority in Thursday's general election.


The event, in which the next government outlines its plans for its 5 year term, had been scheduled for June 19th.

U.S. Prosecutor axed after refusing Trump call

A leading prosecutor in the United States claims he was fired after
refusing a call from President Donald Trump.

Preet Bharara was the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan and says
Trump was trying to cultivate a relationship he deemed to be
inappropriate.

EU doubtful UK will be ready to start Brexit talks next Monday as planned

EU officials say they doubt Theresa May's government will be in a position to start Brexit talks in a week's time as scheduled - despite May and Brexit minister David Davis saying they're ready.

Ukrainians travel to EU countries without visas

The first wave of Ukrainians has begun traveling to European Union without visas following a landmark agreement.

Trump UK State Visit To Go Ahead



The UK and US are denying reports that US President Donald Trump wants to postpone his UK state visit.


Instead, US officials have responded to the claims saying the President simply doesn't feel like visiting the UK anytime soon.

Italy's Populist Party Performs Poorly in Mayoral Elections

German authorities release British men after emergency plane landing

German authorities released three British men, who were detained after fellow passengers on a flight were concerned that they could be terrorists.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is attempting to shore up her position following last week's election which left a hung parliament.

She's carried out a cabinet reshuffle amid speculation about her position as leader of the Conservative Party.

Later (approx 16GMT) she'll meet backbench MPs who have questions about her Brexit strategy and leadership style.

On Tuesday she's due to finalise a deal with Northern Ireland's DUP to support her in minority government.

Macron's party on to win large majority in French parliamentary elections

Farmers in Indian state of Maharashtra call off protests

Farmers in the state of Maharashtra in India have called off their protests temporarily after the state government agreed to write off their loans.

India's heatwave gets more deadly, over 200 dead in 2017

With over 200 heatwave related deaths in India in April and May, experts have sounded an alarm- cautioning that the number will rise significantly in the months ahead.

A new study by researchers from University of California and IIT Bombay and Delhi has found that increasing temperatures have increased the probability of deaths caused by heat by 150%.

In the last four years, India has witnessed as many as 4,620 deaths caused by heat wave.

US lawmakers urge Trump to turn over Comey tapes

US lawmakers are calling for President Donald Trump to produce any tapes of his conversations with sacked FBI Chief James Comey.
