India's heatwave gets more deadly, over 200 dead in 2017

With over 200 heatwave related deaths in India in April and May, experts have sounded an alarm- cautioning that the number will rise significantly in the months ahead.

A new study by researchers from University of California and IIT Bombay and Delhi has found that increasing temperatures have increased the probability of deaths caused by heat by 150%.

In the last four years, India has witnessed as many as 4,620 deaths caused by heat wave.
