Farmers in Indian state of Maharashtra call off protests

Farmers in the state of Maharashtra in India have called off their protests temporarily after the state government agreed to write off their loans.

The state - which is where the city of Mumbai is located - has one of the highest rates of farmers committing suicide in the country.
