Anger in PMQs over Scottish demands for independence

The Scottish National Party has reiterated its determination to hold a second referendum on Scottish independence following a rowdy session at Prime Ministers Question time in the British parliament.

SNP leader Angus Robertson said Prime Minister Theresa May has repeatedly denied calls from the Scottish government to come to a pre-Brexit agreement.  Scotland wants to ensure it remains part of the European single market trade agreement, a group Mrs May has said the UK as a whole must leave.

Mrs May told MPs the 300 year old union of the United Kingdom could not be compared to the 40 year membership of the European Union.

Mr Robertson angrily responded that Scotland is determined to go ahead with a referendum if its voice is not heard in Brexit negotiations.
